Come work with us this summer!
Are you passionate about open data – and changing policy to make it happen? Are you looking for a summer internship?
If so, we’re looking for YOU. We have a three-month summer internship available in downtown Washington, DC.
Together with our nonprofit research affiliate, the Data Foundation, the Data Coalition is seeking a paid intern to help manage our new office. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for the 3-month internship.
Our Coalition, founded in 2012, advocates on behalf of the private sector and the public interest for the publication of government information as standardized, machine readable data. The Foundation, formed in late 2015 and launched earlier this year, supports this transformation through research, education and programming.
As an intern with the Data Coalition / Data Foundation, you will:
Interact with Coalition members and Foundation supporters, fielding questions on activities and assisting with member benefits concerning communications and events.
Track communications metrics such as Facebook and Twitter advertising and help compile our bi-weekly newsletter for publication.
Track legislative initiatives such as bills in congress, cover committee hearings, and help compile data for advocacy outreach initiatives.
Assist in the management of advocacy contacts by verifying and updating the Coalition’s CRM system.
Help manage our joint offices, keeping watch over supplies, greeting visitors and preparing for events and hosted meetings.
Perform other administrative tasks, as necessary.
Interns for the Data Coalition / Data Foundation are paid $10/hour, and are hired on a rolling basis. It is our expectation that interns are able to work 20-30 hours per week, with potentially more time around major events.
Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to Nick Jeffress at nicholas.jeffress@
