Today, Bryce Pippert, chair of the Executive Director Search Committee of the Board of Directors of the Data Coalition, released the following statement:
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we express our gratitude for the trailblazing work Hudson Hollister led over the past six years as founder and Executive Director of the Data Coalition. In that time, the Coalition’s work to improve government efficiency, data standardization, and transparency has resulted in the success of policy changes, grown from two member companies to 47, and strengthened relationships across the government and in the private sector. We are proud of the organization Hudson and the Data Coalition team have built.
In the Coalition’s first six years, we championed the DATA Act and saw it become law and transform U.S. federal spending data, we built a case for RegTech transformation, and we helped move the federal government toward more informed data-driven management. The same energy and focus that inspired the creation of the Data Coalition continue to motivate us on the Board, as well as the dedicated staff and member companies. We are excited for the future of the Data Coalition.
With confidence, we now announce a new era for the Data Coalition and initiate our search for the next Executive Director.
Hudson has decided to transition from the role of Executive Director on October 1, 2018, stepping back from day-to-day leadership so he can pursue new challenges. He will remain actively involved in seeing the mission of the Data Coalition continue as a member of our Board of Directors.
In 2016, Hudson founded and took on the role of the president of the Data Foundation. In the past few years, the Data Foundation has published 10 reports and successfully convened a strong community of open data professionals at its annual conference, Data Transparency. In line with Hudson’s decision for the Coalition, he will be stepping down from that post as well. The Foundation intends to announce a separate search for that position soon.
The Data Coalition Board has appointed an Executive Director Search Committee to solicit and interview candidates for its Executive Director position. The committee invites interested parties with a passion for the work of the Data Coalition to review the position description and submit an application.”
