Overview

The U.S. government is a steward of one of the fastest-growing and most diverse assets in America today: open-source data. In this webinar, leading public data innovators explained how they are using open data to promote government transparency and accountability and solve important issues facing the public. Whether predicting storms, tracking federal spending, or understanding changing demographics—open government data is an impactful resource to empower citizen data scientists, policymakers, and community leaders.

This webinar was originally scheduled as a panel discussion at South by Southwest (SXSW). Due to the cancellation of SXSW, the Data Coalition hosted this virtual program in an effort to keep the crucial conversation around open government data going.
