The Data Transparency Coalition is the world’s only open data trade association. Through our advocacy, outreach, and events, we seek to persuade policymakers that government information should be published as standardized, open data. Our members’ innovative solutions can republish government information for better transparency, analyze it to improve management, and automate compliance reporting – but only if the information is expressed as open data, instead of disconnected documents.
Through the DATA Act of 2014, the proposed Financial Transparency Act, and similar reforms for Congressional and legal information, we are leading a campaign to transform the whole landscape of government information.
On January 27th, our Coalition and its members will visit Capitol Hill to bring our case to key members of Congress and staffs. For more information and to participate, contact Sarah Joy Hays, Senior Director of Programming and Member Services, at sarahjoy.hays@datacoalition.
