Tad Anderson

Tad Anderson is the Senior Strategic Partner Manager for AWS’s Worldwide Public Sector business. Prior to that he served as the  Global Head of Venture Capital, Startups and Ecosystem Development for AWS’s Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) business. He also served as the Director of Operations for the Worldwide Public Sector Sales organization from 2014-2016. He is an experienced executive and successful entrepreneur in the information technology sector. Prior to joining Amazon Web Services, he founded Armor-Cloud, a startup with technology that ensured all data in the cloud is encrypted to an organization’s policies and established procedures through risk-based authentication. Anderson also founded LRW Technologies, a software company with a leading secure data solution for BYOD mobile devices.  As chief executive of LRW, Anderson raised funding, secured multiple OEM partnerships, led global go to market strategy and sales efforts, and built strategic relationships resulting in LRW’s Pinecone solution being deployed globally across 4 different continents and passing DHS certification and source code validation.

Anderson’s executive experience includes serving as the Deputy Administrator for Information Technology at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) where he was a senior executive responsible with oversight of the formulation and execution of the ~$70B Federal IT portfolio, definition of management and IT policies and priorities, and driving Executive Branch progress among Federal CXOs and IT programs. He also played a key role in developing and implementing the U.S. e-government strategy and the federal government’s enterprise software buying initiative known as SmartBuy.

Anderson also served as an IBM consultant focusing on federal government solutions and as a senior strategist and consultant for Dutko Worldwide.  He was also the Director of Public Affairs at the National Association of Manufacturers and was the Executive Director of its Association’s Council, an association of association executives.  Earlier in his career, Anderson held appointments at the Department of Commerce and the International Trade Commission.

Tad holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, a Masters in International Commerce from George Mason University, and a certificate in International Trade and Finance from Oxford University, St. Peter’s College. Anderson is also an advisory board member for Kybernao Ventures, a cyber security-focused venture fund.  He lives in Mclean, Virginia with his wife and four children.
